Video Shows Marjorie Taylor Greene Kicking a Teen Activist

A group of Gen-Z activists have shared video evidence that appears to show Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Georgia) kicking one of their members on a sidewalk outside of the U.S. Capitol building. Early Thursday evening, members of the progressive group Voters of Tomorrow — which seeks to increase political engagement among young people — confronted Greene and her staff, speaking to her about gun reform and the Second Amendment of the U.S. Constitution in a heated debate that was captured on video. At one point in the video, Marianna Pecora, the deputy communications director for the group, is walking alongside…

Marjorie Taylor Greene Proposes Bill to Ban Gender-Affirming Care for Trans Kids

Far right Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Georgia) is planning to introduce legislation on Friday that would ban doctors and other medical professionals from providing certain gender-affirming care options to transgender children. Gender-affirming care can take many forms, including therapy and medication. Greene’s bill would restrict how doctors can treat trans children by making it a felony at the federal level to prescribe medication that blocks the effects of puberty in children. The bill would also make it illegal to give trans children surgeries that would permanently change their sex organs — despite the fact that such surgeries are typically only…

A Court Decision Against Marjorie Taylor Greene May Only Embolden Her Base

As the investigations into the January 6, 2021, attack on the Capitol ramp up, it’s becoming increasingly clear that right-wing QAnon adherent Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene was a leading advocate of declaring martial law after Donald Trump’s election defeat. Earlier this week, Judge Charles Beaudrot pondered whether to recommend to the Georgia secretary of state that she be prevented from running for her seat again, under a post-Civil War law designed to stop insurrectionists from holding public office. Meanwhile, the House investigative committee revealed that Greene had texted Trump’s then-Chief of Staff Mark Meadows inquiring about martial law. Whether that…

Meadows Texts Show How Even Trump Loyalists Felt He Was Responsible for Jan. 6

CNN has obtained more than 2,300 text messages between Mark Meadows, who served as former President Donald Trump’s last chief of staff, and other members of Trump’s inner circle, relating to attempts to overturn the 2020 presidential election and the attack on the U.S. Capitol building on January 6, 2021. The texts include interactions with Trump family members, cabinet officials, political supporters, conservative media personalities and dozens of Republican members of Congress, CNN reported on Monday. While the texts include dozens of messages encouraging Trump to overturn the 2020 presidential election results, a number of text messages that were sent…

Greene Bought Oil, Defense Stocks While Complaining About War Profiteers

New financial filings reveal that far right Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Georgia) bought up to $15,000 in stock in defense manufacturers and energy companies two days before Russian forces invaded Ukraine. On February 22, Greene bought stocks in defense industry giant Lockheed Martin and military supplier Caterpillar. She also bought between $1,000 and $15,000 worth of stock in Chevron and NextEra Energy, a utility and energy company. All of these companies’ stocks have grown in the weeks since Vladimir Putin launched his invasion of Ukraine, with Lockheed Martin up by about 20 percent since then. The purchases came the day…

Marjorie Taylor Greene Tries to Justify Presence at White Nationalist Conference

Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Georgia) spoke at a white nationalist conference over the weekend — and even after facing widespread criticism, the far right lawmaker has continued to defend her presence at the event. Greene attended the America First Political Action Conference (AFPAC), which was held in Orlando, Florida, concurrent and in opposition to the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC). AFPAC organizers believe CPAC speakers and Republicans in general are not far enough to the right politically; their leader, reactionary Nick Fuentes, has regularly expressed admiration for fascists. Greene has tried to justify her presence at AFPAC by claiming that…

Twitter Boots Marjorie Taylor Greene From Platform for COVID Misinformation

Twitter has permanently suspended one of Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene’s accounts for “repeated violations” of its COVID-19 misinformation policy, a spokesperson for the service confirmed Sunday. The suspended account, @mtgreenee, was her personal and more prolific account. She will still be allowed to post from her official Congressional page, @RepMTG. Her final tweet falsely referenced “extremely high amounts of Covid vaccine deaths” — a phenomenon with no basis in reality that nonetheless has been often repeated across right-wing media. The social media giant called it her fifth and final “strike.” The controversial representative has been suspended from Twitter temporarily in…
