Variant first detected in Britain found in 60 countries; Dutch curfew set to be introduced between 8.30pm and 4.30am; new measures in Beijing

Turkey has vaccinated more than 1m people in the first week of its nationwide inoculation programme, according to health ministry data.

The programme was launched last Thursday, with health workers among the first to receive the Covid jabs developed by China’s Sinovac Biotech Ltd.
