Gloria first appears in ‘The Mechanics’ she appears again in ‘Magic – Day One.’ Gloria a technorganic being one of a race evolved from a complex synthesis of metals, alloys, and organic matter. Their bodies can, over time, morph and adapt to survive and blend in to live on any planet

The evolution of living creatures with bodies made from a complex synthesis of metals, alloys, and organic matter arose from a specific set of conditions on Glori. These metals included iron, copper, aluminium, and titanium.
The evolution of intelligent life involved an emergent logic arising from organic organisms whose survival depended on various metals’ unique properties, leading to technological advancement. Glori supported the emergence and evolution of intelligent species capable of manipulating and synthesizing materials.

Glori went through several climate transforming events, meteor bombardments, and frequent exposure to radiation from its host sun’s coronal mass ejections all affected different parts of the planet as it orbited its sun.
It was under these conditions that Glori’s rich supply of metals and minerals in close proximity to organic matter and first signs of life led to the evolution of complex machinery and robotic structures.

The violent weather conditions impacting the metal rich regions led to vapourisation of the metals. These particles, many on the nanoscale were carried across the planet by wind and through the water cycle to more stable environments where they were absorbed by the first microscopic organisms. Over millions of years, these creatures evolved to absorb and incorporate metals and minerals in concentration, helping them to survive the sometimes harsh and volatile environment.

The second stage of evolution began when a more stable geological time period occurred and allowed for forming and preserving mineral deposits over long periods. This stability facilitated the accumulation of the necessary resources for synthesising metals and alloys.

During this time early creatures learned to adapt raw materials and even form and absorb alloys in order to survive.
The unique atmosphere of Glori during the more stable period was perfectly conducive to technological advancements, being neither too corrosive nor reactive to metals and alloys. The balanced atmosphere presented the ideal conditions to support the development of advanced technologies.

The availability of abundant sunlight, geothermal energy, and a particular pattern of cosmic energy bombardment was crucial for synthesizing metals, alloys, and organic matter.

The presence of a diverse and complex organic chemistry alongside a wide range of organic compounds and the abundance of metals and alloys provided the foundation for integrating organic and inorganic materials and developing bio-metallic structures.

One unique aspect of bio-metal evolution on Glori was the rapid decline of competition for resources favouring symbiosis, cooperation and experimentation. What can only be termed ‘logical sacrifice’. This led to improved decision-making, locomotion and manipulation of objects and material resources to accelerate evolution.
The relatively stable climate, absence of catastrophic events, and the long-term stability of Glori’s physical and biological processes gave Glori a stable environment for a prolonged period allowing for the gradual evolution and refinement of creatures with ‘glorified’ bodies.
